Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Public-Private Council responsible for maintenance and monitoring of oil product  supply and price made a decision not to increase prices of fuels A-92 and A-80, as they are considered essential.

On the other hand, they decided not to meddle in the price hike of high-end fuels A-95, A-98 and Euro-5.

The Council exchanged opinions with the Prime Minister on January 18. PM stated his intent to bring up matters regarding price maintenance of most commonly used fuels and tax issues of importers which operated at a loss  during the meeting with IMF representatives on January 25.

The Council has sent reminders to importers not to raise prices and policy guideline recommendations to the Cabinet, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry and Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection. Furthermore, the council considered it proper to fine Magnai Trade LLC for raising prices, even though oil importers claimed to have suffered losses.

The Council has made no decision regarding diesel fuel yet.
