Foreign trade had profit of USD 485.9 million in the first three months
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s total foreign trade turnover reached USD 3.06 billion in the first three months of 2019, showing an increase of USD 444.5 million or 17 percent compared to the same period of previous year. The exports surpassed imports, making the gap between exports and imports USD 485.9 million.
Mongolia has engaged in trade with 122 countries in the first three months, exporting goods to 54 countries and importing goods from 119 countries.
Coal exports reached USD 1.8 billion, up by USD 289.3 million or 19.5 percent compared to the same period of previous year. 97.7 percent of the coal was exported to China.
Export growth was mainly affected by increase of mineral exports by USD 226.4 million, exports of precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and jewelry by USD 71.5 million and exports of textile goods by USD 5.8 million respectively.
