Over 1.5 million people vaccinated nationwide

In Mongolia, 38,599 people got vaccinated in the past 24 hours, making the total people who were vaccinated with the first dose to 1,590,636 and both doses to 622,740. Of the total vaccinated people, 894,785 are the residents of Ulaanbaatar, of whom 476 thousand have been vaccinated with both doses. 


As for the residents in rural regions, 695,851 people have been vaccinated, of whom 146,444 have been vaccinated with both doses. Mongolia launched its vaccination rollout in February 2021, with plans to inoculate its 2.6 million people aged over 18. 

As of today, 99 percent of 56 thousand healthcare workers have been vaccinated with first dose and 71 percent of them have been vaccinated with second dose. Moreover, 35 percent of 558 thousand 50-plus year old group have gotten their first shots of the vaccine while 7.2 percent have received their second shots. 


At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today on May 10, it was reported that 639 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours. In the country, 45,459 COVID-19 cases have been recorded so far. In the past 24 hours, 1,287 people were discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries to 32,660.
