SocietyUlaanbaatar, January 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Office of the Governor of the Capital City has established surveillance sub-centers under the governors' offices of nine districts. In 2024, over 2,600 new surveillance cameras were installed at 176 intersections, crossings, and roads across Ulaanbaatar City.
Currently, the sub-centers in Nalaikh, Bayangol, Bagakhangai, Songinokhairkhan, and Baganuur districts have been put into operation. Additionally, the Video Surveillance Center of Ulaanbaatar City is set to open in January 2025. This system will enable the intelligent and unified monitoring of various types of cameras, not only on main streets, roads, and intersections but also in ger district streets, residential neighborhoods, public areas, and private enterprises. The benefits include enhanced crime prevention, improved operational efficiency of surveillance cameras, and better public safety management.
According to Ch. Khuvizaya, the Director of the Ulaanbaatar Traffic Control Center, the nine district-level sub-centers are designed to connect to the city's unified control center through a 40-gigabyte network. For instance, Songinokhairkhan District alone operates approximately 8,000 cameras, and these cameras are now ready to be connected to the respective district sub-center.
