National Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Center Equipped with MRI Scanner

Ulaanbaatar, April 30, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Radiology and Imaging Department of the National Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Center of Mongolia has been equipped with a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging scanner with the investment from the Ministry of Health of Mongolia.
All rooms of the department have also been renovated and are now operational for medical services. This apparatus, with a capacity of 1.5 T (tesla), uses advanced technology that can produce high-quality and more detailed images of even small areas such as shoulders, elbows, and feet. The scanner has a large radius, so it can be used by patients weighing up to 180 kg, allowing comprehensive medical care for sports injuries.
The MRI scanner was assembled and installed by Mongolian engineers from the “Setunari” company. With new equipment, the imaging diagnostic capabilities of the National Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Center are improved, enabling patients to receive detailed medical examinations quickly.
