Ulaanbaatar, August 28, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Fifth China-Mongolia Expo opened in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China, on August 25, 2025.
Over 350 Mongolian enterprises participated in the expo, showcasing
over 700 types of organic products, including wool, cashmere, leather,
cosmetics, souvenirs, leather goods, and food items. Mongolian manufacturers
are actively introducing their products, highlighting their unique qualities
and competitive advantages. This also underscores Mongolia’s export
competitiveness and traditional manufacturing heritage, which meet
international standards while promoting national brands, product exports, mutual
exchange of expertise, and investment opportunities.
The China-Mongolia Expo, held every two years, serves as a vital platform for government and private sector representatives from both countries to exchange expertise, explore new investment and business opportunities, localize innovation and advanced technologies, foster multifaceted cultural, social, and technical relations, expand market access, and establish joint ventures and strategic agreements.
Opening the expo, State Secretary of Food, Agriculture,
and Light Industry of Mongolia, Jambaltseren Tumur-Uya, stated, “The year
2024 marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China, as well as the 10th
anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Building on the longstanding
friendship between our two countries, the China-Mongolia Expo is recognized as
an effective and important partnership in deepening bilateral relations through
trust, broad-based, stable, and mutually beneficial cooperation. In 2024, Mongolia
traded with 163 countries, with China remaining its largest trading partner.
The trade turnover between the two countries reached USD 18.6 billion, bringing
it close to the goal set by the Heads of State to raise bilateral trade to USD
20 billion. Since its inception in 2015, the China-Mongolia Expo has organized
exhibitions and forums aimed at expanding trade, industrial collaboration, and
cultural exchange between the two countries. The next China-Mongolia Expo will
focus on energy, digital economy, climate change, and both regional and
international cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
More than a trade exhibition, the event features a joint conference on science,
technology, and innovation, as well as an investment forum focused on the
agricultural sector. It aims to foster cooperation in green development, agricultural
sustainability, food security, and climate resilience, while promoting mutually
beneficial and balanced growth. We are working to establish a Livestock, Manufacturing,
and Technology Eco-Park complex to strengthen coordination across animal
husbandry, agriculture, food and light industry, and related service sectors.
The initiative aims to integrate manufacturing and trade networks through
advanced electronic technologies. We believe the expo will catalyze the
creation of a new platform for international cooperation in the agricultural
sector, leveraging innovations such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
The Fifth China-Mongolia Expo is taking place in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, and continues through August 29, 2025.
