Ulaanbaatar, September 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, Kemal Memişoğlu, conducted an official visit to Mongolia on September 6-7, 2025.
During the visit, Minister Kemal Memişoğlu emphasized that a new era of long-term cooperation has begun, not only in the health sector, but also in the friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Turkey and Mongolia.
Mongolian Minister of Health, Chinburen Jigjidsuren, highlighted the importance of the visit as a pivotal step in deepening bilateral health cooperation, in line with the evolving priorities of both countries.
In 2025, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Türkiye, the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, paid a State Visit to Turkey, during which the two governments renewed their Agreement in the fields of Health and Medical Sciences.
The original agreement, first signed in 2004, has played a constructive role in advancing Mongolia’s health sector and fostering closer ties between the two countries. The renewed agreement, signed in January and effective from June 2025, has laid the groundwork for enhanced cooperation between Mongolia and Türkiye in the fields of health and medical sciences, public health, medical care, and the strengthening of the health system.
As a result, it has facilitated expanded collaboration between health organizations of both countries. Key areas of engagement include improving medical management, supply of medicines and equipment, sectoral legislation, emergency and disaster response in health care, human resource development for health information systems, expert exchange, visiting professor programs, and the adoption of advanced medical technologies.
