Government Asked to Speed Up Crop Farming Decisions

Ulaanbaatar, September 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav reviewed the operations of the ‘Anar Od’ LLC, which cultivates corn in Sant soum of Selenge aimag.
The ‘Anar Od’ company started crop farming two years ago and currently produces 15,000 to 25,000 tons of silage and animal feed annually for dairy farms. Harvested crops are enriched and bagged directly in the fields before being supplied to herders and farmers. This practice reduces transportation costs, ensuring lower prices for end consumers.
As of September 2025, one ton of feed is supplied at MNT 1 million, and one ton of silage is supplied at MNT 550,000. The company cultivates 550 hectares of land and plans to expand to 3,000 hectares. It also aims to diversify into rice, soybean, pea, and alfalfa cultivation.
Company representatives noted that, beyond policy support such as concessional loans and land expansion, it is equally important for the government to issue permits and resolve other operational matters, large or small, swiftly to sustain crop farming.
