Capital City Bans E-Bikes and Scooters for Winter

Ulaanbaatar, October 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. According to the Order of the Governor of the Capital, scooters, mopeds, and electric bicycles are prohibited on the roads in the capital starting October 20, 2025.
To ensure the safety
of road users and prevent road accidents, these vehicles are temporarily suspended
from the roads from October 20, 2025, to April 10, 2026, reports the
Governor’s Office of the Capital City.
During the specified
period, the relevant departments have been instructed to register and issue
state registration numbers for motorcycles (surron-type vehicles) and mopeds (scooter-type
vehicles). The instructions also cover creating conditions for monitoring and concluding
contracts with rental organizations.
