Mongolian Athletes Shine at “Astana World Cup 2025” with Two Golds and 13-Medal Haul

Ulaanbaatar, October 21, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s athletes delivered a strong performance at the “Astana World Cup 2025” hand-to-hand combat championship in Astana, Kazakhstan. The 11-member Mongolian team, led by Lt. Colonel Kh. Onalbek of the National University of Internal Affairs, brought home a total of 13 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze.
Gold medals were claimed by athletes A. Anujin and Islam-Allbek Shayahmet. Among the silver medalists was M. Bat-Erdene, a cadet of the National University of Internal Affairs of Mongolia, who won a silver medal in the 80 kg category in the self-defense discipline.
