‘Youth in Diplomacy’ Event Organized in Commemoration of 80th Anniversary of UN

Ulaanbaatar, October 27, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Mongolia and the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office jointly organized the “Youth in Diplomacy” event on October 22, 2025.
At the opening ceremony, UN Resident
Coordinator Jaap van Hierden and MOFA Director-General of the Multilateral
Cooperation Department, Mandkhai Batsuren, delivered opening remarks,
highlighting the significance of preparing a new generation of professionals in
Mongolian foreign policy and diplomacy, supporting youth participation, and ensuring
the consistent expression of youth voices within the United Nations.
About 100 participants, including
young diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, young officers who served
in UN peacekeeping missions, students of International Relations at the
National University of Mongolia, and young staff members of the UN Resident
Coordinator’s Office, took part in the event, holding discussions on the role
and participation of youth in multilateral cooperation.
