Mongolian Baritone G. Ariunbaatar Wins Golden Soffit Award

/MONTSAME. Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, Honoured Artist
of Mongolia, was awarded the prestigious prize Golden Soffit for the role of
Nabucco in J. Verdi's opera “Nabucco” in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
The Northern capital hosted the 29th Awards Ceremony held for winners of the highest theater award of St. Petersburg - Golden Soffit 2022-2023 on November 13, 2023. Golden Soffit is an integral part of the cultural life of the Northern capital, and the awarding of the Laureates becomes a bright point at the end of the theater season. The highest theater prize of St. Petersburg annually awards the best performances of the past season - drama, opera, ballet, puppet, musical productions in the genre of operetta and musical, as well as actors, directors, and theater artists. The Golden Soffit Award takes place in four categories:
-Theatre of Drama
-Musical Theatre
-Puppet Show
-Non-state

baritone G. Ariunbaatar was nominated for the Golden Soffit Award for the role
of Nabucco in J. Verdi's opera “Nabucco” and won in the “Best Actor in an Opera
Performance” category.
Ariunbaatar
Ganbaatar graduated from the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture in
Ulaanbaatar in 2010. He improved his mastery under the guidance of teacher and
accompanist Darima Linhovoin, with whom he performed in Russia and abroad.
Ariunbaatar has performed in
New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Cadogan Hall, Buckingham Palace, the Spanish
Opera Las Palmas, the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and the Bolshoi
Theater of Russia, as well as in Brussels at the Asia-Europe summit.
He made his debut on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater in 2016, performing the role of Escamillo in the opera Carmen.
