Speaker Zandanshatar emphasized the importance of Ban Ki-moon's leadership in maintaining security and peaceful coexistence on the international stage.

The Speaker said, “We greatly support your guidance to world leaders to solve global challenges and issues such as climate change, recession, and food and energy shortages. Under your leadership, the global sustainable development goal initiative for 2030 was first adopted in 2015. We could not imagine sustainable development without the presence of peace. So, recognizing the importance of assessing the challenges we facethe second Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue theme was chosen in line with the sixteenth SDG, which is “Expediting Actions Advancing Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Mongolia faces several development challenges, particularly climate change, national security, and economic development. It is important to consider the younger generations and the future and take these issues seriously."

Chairman of "The Ban Ki-moon Foundation", and eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon expressed gratitude to Speaker Zandanshatar, for his leadership in organizing the second Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue.

Ban Ki-moon said, "This year, many high-level officials and decision-makers are attending the Dialogue, and their cooperation further expands the possibilities of implementing sustainability goals. The Ban Ki-moon Foundation and Stanford University are working together to advocate for implementing sustainable development goals to national leaders."

“You have assessed important issues and have chosen to discuss the 16th Sustainable Development Goal, “Expediting Actions Advancing Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” in this Dialogue. This is very timely as we are sidelining our sustainable development goals. We have only accomplished 15-20 percent of these objectives, which means we will require nearly 50 years to fulfill them," noted Mr. Ban Ki-moon.

Ban Ki-moon said, “We must prioritize the efforts to fight climate change and if climate disasters strike, all other goals will face enormous hurdles. Regretfully, countries are not focusing on the climate firmly. Least developed countries have less capability, so developed countries should bear more responsibility. We are interested in holding the next Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue on the theme on climate change."
