Mongolia and Japan discuss legal-sector cooperation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia D.Odbayar received the director of Nagoya University Asian Satellite Campuses Institute (ASCI), professor Fumio Isoda and Dr. Katsuya Ichihashi on March 27.
Professor Fumio Isoda introduced the cooperation between the Nagoya University (NU) and universities of Mongolia and joint research projects and training programs that are being implemented. Specifically, he mentioned that Mongolian civil servants and judges are studying PhD while serving. In the future, lawyers, researchers and teachers with master’s degrees will be able to participate in the program and the program will open possibility to Mongolian and Japanese scholars to conduct joint researches.

He also expressed his appreciation for a discussion on comparative legal studies in Mongolian and Japanese administrative court proceedings organized on March 26 in Ulaanbaatar.
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia D.Odbayar emphasized the need of more intensive development of bilateral relations in legal sector. “The key in development of any cooperation is relationships between people. Thus, I hope that the bilateral cooperation and efforts that you make will be effective as many people participate in the program improving their knowledge.”
Professor Fumio Isoda agreed with the Chairman of the Constitutional Court on relationships between people and expressed his desire that the Mongolia-Japan relations will prosper through people’s relationships and cooperation between lawyers of the two countries.
