Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 14, Chairman of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar met with President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, as part of his five-day official visit to the Republic of Turkey.

During the meeting, Chairman of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar put forth a proposal to intensify the research work of the archeological findings, bring them into economic circulation, attract investment, and develop them into a tourist complex and expressed hope that the Academies of Sciences of the two countries will support his proposal.

“Many historical and cultural monuments related to the Mongol Empire are found in Turkey and Asia Minor. Ancient Turkic cultural heritages are also found in the Orkhon Valley of Mongolia. It shows that Mongolia and Turkey have maintained relations of friendship and cooperation for centuries”, said  the Chairman of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar at the beginning of the meeting.

“The remains of Hulagu Khan's summer palace were discovered in Turkey's Van province recently. Moreover, the joint research team of the International Academy of Turkic Studies and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences found extremely rare findings such as the Turkish inscription of İlteriş Kutlug Kağan in Nomgon valley in the Arkhangai province, Mongolia. Scientific research in the world is aimed at digging deeper into their history. So this discovery explored the Turkic history by several decades”, he added.

During the meeting, the activities of the Turkish Academy of Sciences and the results of its major research and analysis in the field of archaeology were presented.

TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the State Great Khural, G.Zandanshatar, for receiving him during his visit to Mongolia last summer.
