Under the Turquoise Sky premieres in Tokyo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Under the Turquoise Sky film by Mongolian and Japanese artists premiered with positive reception at the Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema in Tokyo, Japan on February 19.  

 

Honored Cultural Worker of Mongolia, actor B.Amarsaikhan wrote the screenplay of the feature directed by Japanese director Kentaro. The Mongolian actor also starred in the film alongside renowned Japanese actor Yuya Yagira who became the youngest winner of the Best Actor award in the history of the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. 

 

Under the Turquoise Sky, which was chosen as an opening film at the 68th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg held in Germany last November, won the Talent Award of Mannheim-Heidelberg and the Prize of the International Film Critics Jury (Fipresci) from the festival.

 

80 percent of the film was shot in Mongolia and 20 percent in Japan. The postproduction took place in France. 

 

The film is showing at Japanese cinemas from today, February 26, 2021.
