Minister of Culture meets Hungarian Ambassador

Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin met with Ambassador of Hungary to Mongolia Borbala
Anna Obrusanszky and producer of Hungary’s Mozgó Mozi company Kornel Sipos to
discuss issues related to making films in Mongolia.
The adoption of the Law on Promotion of Film Industry make it possible for foreign artists, making films showcasing the culture and traditions of Mongolia, to obtain visa with facilitated process and get back a certain percentage of the expenses they spent for shooting the film in Mongolia.
The Hungarian side said it
intends to shoot some parts of its film in Mongolia and the National Film
Institute of Hungary has earmarked USD 3.3 million funding for the Hungary-England-Mongolia film project.
Hungary is providing USD 4.5 million funding to the project worth USD 7.5
million.
The Hungarian film crew will
shoot the parts in Mongolia in Spring 2022 with an estimated cost of USD 2
million. The project is expected to be biggest cooperation between Hungary and Mongolia in culture sector.
At the meeting, the sides also
discussed at length the preparations for establishing a Memorandum of
Understanding on film studios, cinematography training and co-production between
the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia and Hungary’s Ministry of Human Resources.
