Mongolian propaganda and media under discussion
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monday organized November 2 a regular discussion themed this time “Mongolian propaganda and media”
This work has been done in order to draw up a programme on propagandizing Mongolia abroad.
The event brought together representatives of the MONTSAME news agency, TV channels, radio, newspapers, magazines, websites, NGOs and some journalists. They discussed ways of reflecting proposals and initiatives of the media in the national policy on propagandizing Mongolia abroad, and how to provide the activities with a general policy and responsibilities.
The head of the MONTSAME news agency A.Baatarkhuyag spoke about the history of Mongolian propaganda and highlighted opportunities of fruitful works in the propaganda. A scholar J.Bodibaatar presented theories of the soft power policy, foreign propaganda and public diplomacy, while a director-general of the “Cover Mongolia” company B.Monkhdol expressed views on contents of information and news about Mongolia delivered to foreign world. A journalist D.Boldkhuyag talked about ways of propagandizing Mongolia and raising its reputation at international arena. He was followed by P.Bayarmagnai, executive director of the United Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, who touched upon the same topic and also activities of the International Press Club.
After this the gathered considered ways of broadening external relations of TV channels, radio, newspapers, magazines and websites, of delivering products to international users, and shared views on challenges and problems.
