Transport sector as of November
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 11 months of 2015, 17,373.4 thousand tons of freight and 2,598.3 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the carried freight decreased 1,684.6 thousand tons or 8.8 percent and the number of carried passengers--by 494.6 thousand or 16.0 percent.
Revenue from railway transport in the first 11 months of 2015 reached MNT 352.4 billion. This indicates a decrease of 36.7 billion Togrog or 9.4 percent compared to the same period of 2014.
In the same period, the air transport carried 2,584.8 tons of freight and 573.7 thousand passengers (double counting). Compared to the end of November of 2014, carried freight decreased 592.7 tons or 18.7 percent and the number of passengers-- by 59.6 thousand or 9.4 percent.
The revenue of air transport in the first 11 months reached MNT 232.0 billion, increasing 3.9 billion Togrog or 1.7 percent compared to the same period of last year.
