Athletes of 2016 Winter Youth Olympics receive state flag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A farewell ceremony took place Wednesday at the Olympic House--the headquarters of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MonNOC)--for athletes who will take part in the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games, expected this February 12-21 in Lillehammer of Norway.

During the ceremony, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sport S.Lambaa handed over the flag to the sportsmen and wished them big successes.

The 2nd Winter Youth Olympic Games will gather 1,100 athletes who will compete in 15 events for 70 packages of medals. Mongolia will be represented by A.Ochirsukh IMS (cross-country skiing) and B.Sumiya IMS (speed-skating).

Present at the ceremony were D.Zagdsuren, the MonNOC president; J.Otgontsagaan, the MonNOC secretary-general; Ch.Gantomor, the first vice president of the Mongolian Federation of Skiing Sport; E.Ochirsuren, the Federation’s secretary-general; M.Narmandakh, the secretary-general of the Mongolian Federation of Speed-Skating; L.Tsend, a senior athlete and former Olympian; and others.
