Cast iron smelting plant opens in Umnugobi

Umnugobi /MONTSAME/ Dalanzadgad TPP company has established a cast iron smelting plant in Umnugobi aimag and put the plant into operation/ commission on September 27.
The plant with capacity of smelting one ton metal in an hour, allows the company, and the aimag to be supplied with own locally produced metallic, iron and cast iron equipment parts. Dalanzadgad thermal power plant HPP uses 50 tons of cast iron per year and authorities of the smelting plant plans to supply its products to other aimags and soums in addition to local needs.
80 per cent of the raw material needed for the plant will be provided with scrap metal and the rest from Erdenet. The new plant has created 15-20 permanent jobs.
