42nd Covid-19 case confirmed in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An individual, who came to Mongolia on a charter flight from Frankfurt to Ulaanbaatar on May 3, tested positive for the coronavirus in a second test, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in Mongolia to 42, Director of the National Center of Communicable Diseases (NCCD) D.Nyamkhuu reports at today’s daily Covid-19 briefing of the Ministry of Health.


Specifically, on May 7, two NCCD laboratories and the one in Darkhan-Uul aimag tested the samples of 44 people, including two suspected cases, for coronavirus. One of the suspected cases who is in quarantine in Umnugobi aimag tested negative, while the other, who was put into quarantine at NCCD upon arrival from Frankfurt on May 3, tested positive.


The confirmed Covid-19 patient underwent the second test after exhibiting symptoms such as headache, sore throat, stuffy nose, fatigue, nausea, and loss of appetite on May 7.


Of the total 42 Covid-19 cases that have been recorded in Mongolia so far, 13 have recovered, while the remaining 29 are currently receiving treatment at NCCD.
