Mongolian Judokas Competing in the Asian Senior Championship

Ulaanbaatar, April 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Asian Senior Championship is taking place on April 25-27 in Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 295 judokas from 30 Asian countries are competing in this year’s largest judo competition, including 18 judokas from Mongolia.
Today, judokas
in the lightweight category, including men's 60, 66, and
women's 48, 52 kg, are competing.
In the above four categories, from Mongolia
Sukhbat Byambasuren (60
kg), Erkhembayar Battogtokh (66 kg), Narantsetseg Ganbaatar
(48 kg), and Uranzaya Bayanmunkh and Nandin-Erdene Myagmarsuren (52
kg) will fight.
Of these
judokas, Erkhembayar and Narantsetseg are competing for the third time in the
continental championship, while the others are taking part for the first time. Judoka Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo and Erkhembayar Battogtokh will compete to defend the Champion title.
Mongolian judokas have won a total of 26 gold
medals at the Asian Championships, with Kh. Tsagaanbaatar, Kh. Erdenet-Od, M.
Urantsetseg, and P. Lkhamdegd being two-time champions. Honored Athlete D.
Narmandakh claimed the
first gold medal for Mongolia in the
Asian Judo Championships in 1996, while last
year Honored Athlete Baasankhuu, Enkhriilen, and international master Erkhembayar
became champions.
