Erdenes Mongol Joins Kharkhorum City in Development and Tree Planting Effort

Ulaanbaatar, October 10, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the “Erdenes Mongol” Group, represented by Executive Director Narantsogt Sanjaa, and Kharkhorum Mayor Khaltar Luvsan to advance the construction of the new city of Kharkhorum, which is scheduled to begin next year.
As part of the "Billions of Trees" National Movement of Mongolia, the “Erdenes Mongol” Group has pledged to support the development of the “Great Khaans’ Garden” in Kharkhorum through a major tree-planting and landscaping initiative.
By signing the MoU, the company committed to planting 536,000 trees across 778 hectares; of that total, 330,000 trees were successfully planted last spring and are now being actively maintained.
The project also includes landscaping an additional 53 hectares of land and constructing flood control dams. The “Great Khaans’ Garden” is currently under development, with ongoing maintenance and protection efforts aimed at transforming it into a notable visitor destination for both domestic and international tourists.
Following the 2022 presidential decree, construction to rebuild the city of Kharkhorum in the Orkhon Valley officially commenced in March 2025.
