Indian External Affairs Minister Pays Courtesy Call on President Khurelsukh

/MONTSAME/. Minister of
External Affairs of the Republic of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, paid a
courtesy call on President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, during his State
Visit to India, on October 13, 2025.
Dr. Jaishankar congratulated
President Khurelsukh on paying a State Visit to India in commemoration of the
70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two
countries, emphasizing that the Government and people of India attach great
significance to this visit and warmly welcome the Mongolian President.
President Khurelsukh reaffirmed that
Mongolia regards India as its third neighbor and a trusted partner in the
Indo-Pacific region, expressing commitment to further expanding the scope of
the “Strategic Partnership” and deepening bilateral cooperation on
international and regional platforms.
The President highlighted the
importance of revitalizing the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission and
expressed appreciation to Minister Jaishankar, in his capacity as Co-Chair of
the Indian side of the Commission, for his close cooperation in implementing
major projects and programs between the two countries.
Minister Jaishankar briefed the
President on the current and future projects and programs implemented within
the framework of bilateral cooperation.
Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar earned
his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi and his master’s and
doctoral degrees in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
He has served as First, Second, and Third Secretary, Counselor, and Deputy
Chief of Mission at Indian embassies in Moscow, Washington, Colombo, Budapest,
and Tokyo, and has been Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the Republic of Singapore,
the People’s Republic of China, and the United States of America.
From 2015 to 2018, he served as Foreign Secretary of India and was appointed Minister of External Affairs in 2019. He is a member of the upper house of the Parliament of India, the Rajya Sabha.
