Ulaanbaatar, December 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg Batmunkh met with the High Commissioner for National Minorities, Christophe Kamp, on the sidelines of the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on Mongolia’s policy and ongoing efforts to protect the rights, culture, language, and education of national minorities. Minister Battsetseg underlined that the Government is consistently implementing policies to preserve the history, traditions, and cultural heritage of Kazakh, Tuvan, and other minority communities, while ensuring access to quality mother-tongue education through curriculum updates, textbook development, teacher training, and cultural programs.

The two sides reaffirmed their interest in expanding cooperation in education, multilingualism, and the social and economic inclusion of national minorities. They also discussed the impact of climate change, particularly harsh winters and dzud, on local livelihoods and the traditional pastoralism of minority groups, agreeing on the importance of sharing best practices and organizing joint discussions in this area.
