Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Save the Children is implementing the project, ‘Technical Assistance to Strengthen the COVID-19 Response in Mongolia under Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC)’ in cooperation with the nonprofit human development organization, FHI 360, with financing from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Through the project, support is being provided in fighting against the pandemic, taking preventative measures, and reducing infections.

In the framework of the project being implemented in 11 aimags, a consultative meeting was organized on improving primary healthcare services being provided in rural areas of the country on May 11.

Reference materials prepared in the framework of the project were also presented to the Ministry of Health. The materials are deemed to be significant for reducing clinical errors, standardizing healthcare services, and strengthening the relationship between intensive care unit staff, highlighted Director of the Office of Health at USAID Michelle Lang-Alli.

During the consultative meeting, the results of an assessment carried out on the necessity and demand for oxygen supplies at healthcare facilities in aimags and soums were introduced. Furthermore, the sides discussed pressing issues being faced in providing primary healthcare services, good practices, and cooperation.
