Mongolia not to be subject to Vietnam’s rice exports restrictions
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mongolia Nguyen Thi Doan informed today to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry that Mongolia will not be subject to rice export restrictions imposed by the Government of Vietnam until the end of June and handed over the letter from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Cuong.

Educational training centers allowed to reopen
At the cabinet meeting of May 6, cabinet resolution on the reopening of training centers submitted by the State Emergency Commission was approved. As a result, 1,088 training centers will be opened gradually, involving only people over the age of 16, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

Additional U.S. Government Assistance to Support Good Governance and Civil Society in Mongolia
The U.S. government today, May 1, announced the MNT8.3 billion ($3 million) expansion of the bilateral assistance agreement between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Mongolia’s Ministry of Finance to continue projects and implement new programs that support good governance and strengthen the role of civil society in achieving Mongolia’s development goals.  This brings the total USAID contribution to more than MNT 342 billion ($123 million) since 2004 to support Mongolia’s sovereignty and democracy.

On April 30, Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia D.Davaa held a video conference with the officials from Gazprom, open joint-stock company of Russia, within the framework of advancing the study and ensuring preparations the project to build a natural gas pipeline from Russia to China through Mongolia, which is being implemented under the MoU signed between the Government of Mongolia and Gazprom on December 5, 2019, in Sochi during the official visit of the Mongolian Prime Minister to Russia.
