Boxing nat’l championship concluded

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of the 14th Sport Games of Mongolia, the 36th boxing national championship named after State Honored Coach V.Batbayar, took place this January 11-17 at the  House of Sport in Ulaanbaatar.

This year’s events were attended by 224 boxers from 34 clubs. They competed in men’s 10 weight categories and in women’s eight weight divisions.

The tournament also attracted boxers from Chinese Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region and Russian Buryatia Republic.

International master of sports B.Tuvshinbat became the Mongolian champion for the ninth time in the men’s 69kg, while Asian Games gold medalist D.Otgondalai IMS (men’s 60kg) won the national championship title for the eighth time; B.Chinzorig (men’s 64kg)--for the fourth.

In the women’s competitions, a boxer from Russian Buryatia N.Shadrina won a gold medal in the 60kg bout. Bronze medalist of the Asian Games M.Nandintsetseg won in the 51kg contest. Asian champion O.Uyanga (64kg) did not compete in the championship.

Champions' titles of other divisions went to boxers from the “Gobi” complex, “Aldar”, “Khuch”, “Khangarid”, “Talyn burged”, “Shiren beelii” and “Ulaan arslan” sports clubs, Bayangol district and Erdenet city.

In the teams' category, the “Aldar” club won the men’s competitions, the “Talyn burged”--the women’s fights.
