Crimes decreasing

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the national level, 9,919 crimes were registered in the first four months this year which declined by 532 crimes or 5.1% against the previous year.

This decrease was mainly due to decreases of crime against human life and health which declined by 125, crimes against the rules of traffic safety and use of motor vehicles by 195, financial crimes by 112 and crimes against public security by 52 against the previous year.

In April of this year, the number of recorded cases reached 2,880 which increased by 303 or 11.8% compared to same period of the previous year.

In the period, the number of crimes involved children decreased by 66 or 19.5%, crimes involved women--by 168 or 13%, crimes committed in groups--197 or 21.7%, and crimes with alcoholism--by 210 or 10% against the previous year.

Financial loss caused by the crimes reached MNT 64.6 billion in first four months of 2016, which indicates an increase of MNT 56.1 billion or 7.6 times.
