G.Otgontsetseg grabs first medal for Kazakhstan
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Last night (August 6), in the second match for Bronze medal in the women’s 48 kg category of Rio 2016 judo, Kazakhstan’s judoka and Mongolian national G.Otgontsetseg beat the Cuban rival Alvarez, securing the first medal of Kazakhstan in this summer Olympic games.
World Champion M.Urantsetseg was the first to come up to the tatami from the Mongolian team. She wrestled world champion Ami Kondo from Japan, in the women’s 48 kg, in a match for Bronze. She lost this match and was ranked at fifth place.
After consistent wins, International Master Ts.Tsogtbaatar, wrestled in men’s 60kg, lost the match with the twice bronze medalist Kim Won Jin from the Republic of Korea. This was the important match, which decided the entry to the final eight.
