E.Sodnompeljee secures gold in Para Powerlifting World Cup
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Sodnompeljee Enkhbayar, Mongolian Honored Sportsman, bronze medalist of Rio Olympics 2016 won a gold medal in men’s 97 kg bench press category at the World Para Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates held from February 28 to March 3. This medal is the first gold medal achievement of the World Cup in the Mongolian Paralympic history.
He cleared all three lifts beginning with 210 kg, before adding 5 kg in the second and finishing on 220 kg. E.Sodnompeljee has moved up a weight category having competed previously in the men’s up to 88 kg. He was a twice silver medalist of the competition. A few days ago, E.Sodnompeljee has set a national record by lifting 227.5 kg during the National Championship of Mongolia.
