Dentists Without Limit involve 8500 citizens in oral examination

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Dentists Without Limit Foundation of the Federal Republic Germany has conducted free dental and oral cavity check-ups and treatments to citizens of Selenge aimag.
26 dentists from Germany worked in Khuder, Jargalant, Altanbulag, Shaamar, Dulaankhaan, Sukhbaatar, Mandal, Khutul and Saikhan soums of Selenge aimag for two weeks, involving over 8500 citizens in the dental exam and treatment, they informed today.
"Doctors of the Dentists Without Limit Foundation have been working in Mongolia for the 12th year and a total of MNT 500 million was invested in it. Previously, they worked in Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai and Tuv aimags and we are discussing about continuing the work in some aimags and soums next year, said MP N.Oyundari.
During the report, dentists stressed that parents do not advise how to clean teeth to their children and it becomes fundamental reason for dental problem. Therefore they should teach it well and It is proper that parents brush their children's teeth until they are able to do it themselves.
Having healthy teeth and oral cavity of children aged 0-18 is a part of Government policies in Germany and trainings on oral hygiene and advice are provided regularly to children. Moreover dental sealants are used to all children aged between 0-18 for preventing from tooth decay, the dentists added.
