Nighttime electricity discount takes effect
映像Just a few days before the New Year, the government issued the regulation on granting the electricity discount to Ger district households. This is the effective measure against heavy air pollution in Mongolia’s capital city to encourage residents to heat their homes with electric heaters instead of coal or other flammable material that is often toxic.
The electricity tariff for households of Ger districts is being zeroed between 9 pm and 6 am. The discount reaches out to a total of 146 thousand users in Ger districts of Ulaanbaatar. However, the discount will be practiced only for those households that meet the requirements, set out in the regulation, said the minister of Energy Mr Gankhuu.
The regulation came into effect on the first day of the New Year and will last until 1st of April.
