Mongolia represented on the international figure skating scene for the first time
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Figure skater G.Maral-Erdene competed in the ladies’ singles at the 29th Winter Universiade, which is taking place in Krasnoyarsk, Russia on March 2-12. It is the first time that Mongolia has been represented in a prestigious international figure skating competition.
Of the total 38 participants in the event, she received 24.75 points, ranking 30th. Maral-Erdene said, “There are not any figure skating rinks in Mongolia, so I do not get to go back to my home country that much due to training.”
She currently majors in Sports Science at Chukyo University in Japan, in which many of the Olympic figure skating coaches are employed, and intends to continue her training to make great achievements in international competitions. Having lived in Japan since the age of 5, she has been training under the coaching of Japanese figure skating coaches for 12 years.
