Mongolia confirms another two coronavirus cases, total at 215

Today’s COVID-19 press briefing by the Ministry of Health updated the latest coronavirus situation in Mongolia. In the past 24 hours, a total of 426 test have been carried out at three laboratories nationwide.  Among them, two people repatriated from Kazakhstan were tested positive for the virus, taking the total number of people who ever have the disease in Mongolia at 215. 


The patients, who were aged 26 and 31 years old, were staying under 21-day compulsory isolation after arriving on the charter flight from Nur-Sultan city on June 10, and their repeated tests came back positive yesterday.  


Moreover, five more patients, have been recovered from the coronavirus, and the total number of recoveries has reached 158. Now, 57 people are being treated for COVID-19 at the National Center for Communicable Diseases, most of them are feeling well. 


The National Center for Communicable Diseases is now preparing to receive more than 250 passengers to arrive on the next repatriation flight – charter flight from Seattle city of US tomorrow, June 24. All arriving people on the MIAT plane will be directly taken to isolation facilities as a precaution and will be tested for coronavirus.
