U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Mongolia postponed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On October 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia reported that the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s official visit to Mongolia has been postponed for an indefinite period.
The U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had planned to pay an official visit to Mongolia on October 7 at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan. The sides agreed to mutually determine the convenient day for the visit.
During the visit, the sides had planned to discuss opportunities to strengthen the Mongolia-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, ensure implementation of road map for expanding economic ties and progress of USD 350 million MCC Water Compact aimed at improving water supply of Ulaanbaatar city.
