Prime Minister receives Japanese Foreign Minister视频
On May 1, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi.
Thanking the Foreign Minister for his visit to Mongolia on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Prime Minister stressed Japan’s timely support provided for Mongolia’s effort to vaccinate its target population during the difficult times of the pandemic.
He noted that Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation over the past 50 years have been developing rapidly not only in the scope of bilateral relations but also within international arenas, and emphasized that the countries are actively cooperating in all fields, including politics, economy, culture, and education.
The sides agreed to enrich the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries with new content within the framework of the strategic partnership, and to work together towards attracting investment in priority sectors of the economy within the Mongolian Government’s New Revival Policy. The two sides also exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation in introducting advanced technologies, establishing a free economic zone in Khushig valley, planning satellite cities, and other issues of mutual interest.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the high-level reciprocal visits are of utmost importance for the development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, while thanking the Prime Minister for expressing his solidarity through his working visit to Japan and participation in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympic games amid the pandemic.
The two sides reviewed the 50-year history of friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Japan, and concurred to further strengthen the strategic partnership, expand and deepen economic cooperation, and actively cooperate for regional peace and prosperity.
