Speaker G. Zandanshatar Received Newly Appointed Russian Ambassador

of the State Great Khural (Speaker of the parliament) G. Zandanshatar received
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to
Mongolia Yevsikov Alexei Nikolaevich on May 8.
At the onset of the meeting, Speaker G. Zandanshatar expressed
his pleasure in meeting with Mr. Yevsikov Alexei Nikolaevich and congratulated
him on his new assignment as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Russian Federation to Mongolia. Noting Ambassador Evsikov A.N’s
extensive experience in the diplomatic sphere, the Speaker expressed his
readiness to cooperate in further developing the relations between Mongolia and
Russia.
In response, Ambassador Evsikov A.N expressed his gratitude to
the Speaker for taking the time to meet him and said “Mongolia is not only a
close neighbor of Russia but also a strategic partner of our country.
Parliamentary reforms and development processes have been intensified in recent
years. In particular, reforms of laws and regulations on the voting system are
of great significance in strengthening governance. Hence, I would like to
further solidify the inter-parliament cooperation of the two countries.”
Speaker G. Zandanshatar said “Cooperation between legislative
bodies is the main component of the good neighborly and friendly relations of
Mongolia and Russia. In this regard, cooperation between the legislative bodies
of our two countries has been active in recent years. It is demonstrated by
several high-level parliamentary visits which were taken place by the Russian
side over the last two years.”
Noting the long-standing good neighborly and friendly relations
between the two countries, the parties exchanged views on trade, economy, tourism,
culture, education, science, and humanitarian cooperation.
