Foreign Minister Battsetseg Meets Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi

Ulaanbaatar, October 18, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On October 16, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
At the outset of the Meeting, Mongolian Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg noted that the meeting was taking place on a significant day, the 74th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the People's Republic of China. She expressed her appreciation to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi for his active efforts to maintain the frequency of high-level reciprocal visits between the two countries during the trying times of the pandemic.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed gratitude to President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa's participation in the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The Forum is being held in Beijing under the theme “High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity” on October 17-20, 2023.
In addition, the two sides discussed preparations for the bilateral meeting between Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, which will be held on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on October 25-26, 2023.
Over 20 Heads of State and Government are participating in the Third Belt and Road Forum.
