Cooperation with Japan in Human Development Highlighted

and Sciences L. Enkh-Amgalan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Japan to Mongolia Igawahara Masaru.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister
congratulated Mr. Igawahara Masaru on his appointment as the Ambassador and
expressed his gratitude for the achievements of the two countries' joint
projects and programs in the fields of education and science.
Within the framework of joint research of the "Higher Education in Engineering and Technology" project, which is being implemented with a soft loan from the Japanese Government, 26 teams from the National University of Mongolia, Mongolian University of Science and Technology, University of Life Sciences cooperated with more than 60 universities and institutes in Japan. The two parties discussed the need to start the next phase based on the project's results, the modernization of research laboratories, and the capabilities of scholars.
The parties agreed to expand the project to
improve the quality of advanced training to solve the problems facing Mongolia
and support research and testing, production, and industrial development.
The Ambassador expressed his eagerness to
cooperate in the field of human development and education, which is the main
pillar of development, and noted his intention to cooperate within the
framework of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects as a
starting point.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the
following areas:
- Intensifying public-private partnership
- Development of schools in rural areas with
the Kosen system
- Implementation of joint projects and programs
in the field of vocational education in cooperation with JICA
- Implementation of vocational education projects
for young people with special needs
- Improvement of the quality of primary and secondary education and construction of school buildings with the help of the Japanese government
- To grant scholarships within the framework of the "President's Message-2100" scholarship program
