Surveillance Cameras to Be Connected to Central Network

Ulaanbaatar, September 19, 2024 /MONTSAME/. During its regular session on September 18, 2024, the Cabinet assigned relevant officials to take concrete measures across the country to enhance public safety, ensure peaceful living conditions, and prevent crime.
Governors of the Capital City,
Aimags, and Districts were tasked with connecting surveillance cameras
installed in streets, roads, public spaces, and outside of entities’ buildings
to a centralized network, establishing a “Tele-Camera Monitoring Sub-Center”
under respective Governor’s Offices of Aimags and Districts, ensuring
surveillance cameras owned by businesses and organizations as well to be
installed to comply with national standards and connecting them to the “Tele-Camera
Monitoring Sub-Center,” using existing infrastructure of telecommunications and
network service providers.
Minister of Digital Development,
Innovations, and Communication Baatarkhuu Tsend has been assigned to renew
national surveillance camera standards.
Currently, there are 122,150
outdoor surveillance cameras installed for security purposes nationwide, 85
percent of which are fully operational. In Ulaanbaatar, 69,670 cameras are
owned by 8,296 enterprises, while in rural areas, 52,480 cameras are managed by
5,788 enterprises.
