Ulaanbaatar, December 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Board of Directors of the Mongolian National Climbing Federation approved a decision to award the International Master title to Mountaineer Usukhjargal Tsedendamba and Candidate Master of Sports Purevsuren Lkhagvajav, who turned a new page in the history of Mongolian mountaineering and ascended the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, for the first time from Mongolia without a guide.  To recall, 53-year-old Usukhjargal Tsedendamba and 31-year-old Purevsuren Lkhagvajav reached the summit of Everest (8848 meters above sea level) at 11:57 AM on May 13, 2024. Their successful summit was documented with photos and videos on their mobile phones. Unfortunately, the two mountaineers lost their lives during the descent.  Subsequently, Usukhjargal’s body was retrieved from the mountain on May 25, 2024. However, despite two attempts, the retrieval of Purevsuren’s body from a rocky crevasse at an altitude of 8,300 meters was unsuccessful.
