Ulaanbaatar, April 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. “Mongolian Reindeer Herder” Postage Stamp was released on April 11, 2025.

This postage stamp beautifully illustrates the Tsaatan people's lifestyle throughout the four seasons. The designs feature the migration of reindeer herders, children riding reindeer to school, a Tsaatan shaman, a Taiga hunter, and an otog [camp] of the Tsaatan people. The block illustrates the Gadar Uus mountain in the West Taiga and a mature male reindeer.

A total of 16,000 copies of the four "Mongol Tsaatan" individual stamps were printed, with each stamp valued at MNT 1 thousand. Additionally, 555 First Day Covers (FDCs) were issued, priced at MNT 12 thousand each. These stamps, printed in France, are being sold at post offices in both urban and rural areas of Mongolia.

The Tsaatan people traditionally inhabit the Burkheeleg, Jams, and Ulaan Taiga mountain ranges, the Tengis and Shishged river basins, and the East and West Taiga regions within Khuvsgul aimag. Over 200 Tsaatan people live in Mongolia, herding approximately 2,800 reindeer.
