Ulaanbaatar, April 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Representatives from Nippon India Mutual Fund of Japan paid a working visit to Selenge aimag, Mongolia, and exchanged information with the authorities of the aimag on insufficient staffing in the region.

At the meeting, Governor of Selenge aimag Lkhagvadorj Natsagdorj highlighted that the lack of sufficient specialist staffing was one of the pressing issues facing development in the region.

Under the President's Scholar-2100” Scholarship Program, 17 students from Selenge aimag went to study in universities abroad in 2022, and 10 students in 2024. In 2026, four of these students will have graduated from their universities with diplomas and come back to Selenge aimag, while 14 students will return in 2027.

With the launch of the Scholarship Program for Specialists by the Nippon Fund, USD 5 million will be provided through scholarships over 12 years.

One of the challenges facing Selenge aimag is the lack of a stable and trained workforce. Therefore, the Governor of Selenge aimag has initiated the “Local Student” Program. The Governor stated that providing students who have returned from their study abroad with jobs while resolving their social issues is the key to establishing a stable and skilled workforce in the aimag.
