Ulaanbaatar, May 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 10th annual “Ulaanbaatar Marathon 2025” International Race was successfully held on May 24, 2025.

Approximately 30,000 participants from 41 countries ran distances ranging from 500 metres to 42 kilometers. This year, the 5 km, 21 km, and 42 km races followed a new route, and the Marathon also featured sports, cultural, and health activities, and food services.

Opening “Ulaanbaatar Marathon 2025,” Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee said: “The ‘Ulaanbaatar Marathon’ International Race is making a meaningful contribution to the development and popularization of running in Mongolia. We are staging the international run on a ‘festival’ scale for the second time.” Mayor Nyambaatar encouraged young people to discover their inner potential, build the endurance needed to reach their goals, and take up running to foster sound physical and mental development.

Registration for the Marathon was digitalized and linked to a unified system. For the fourth year in a row, “Hipay” partnered with the organizers to employ an automated RFID solution that records each runner’s start and finish, sends finish-line photos to their registered address, and tracks their performance metrics during the race

Around 450 young volunteers provided assistance for the “Ulaanbaatar Marathon 2025.”
