Ulaanbaatar, August 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian enterprises selected for the Women Exporters in the Digital Economy (WEIDE) Fund, a joint initiative of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC), have been announced.
In March 2025, Mongolia was officially announced in Geneva as one of the first four countries to implement the WEIDE project. During the registration period held in April and May 2025, 307 Mongolian enterprises submitted applications. From these, around 50 women entrepreneurs have been selected to receive a two-year package of financial grants, training, advisory support, and technical assistance worth a total of USD 1 million, according to the Embassy of Mongolia in Geneva. The Fund provides financing for start-ups seeking new opportunities in e-commerce, as well as for businesses ready to expand their digital presence and increase their participation in international markets.
The selected participants represent women-led enterprises in priority export sectors of Mongolia, including leather and hides, wool and cashmere, agricultural products, manufacturing, tourism, food technology, and innovation.
