Bank of Mongolia Purchases 690.1 kg of Precious Metals in August

Ulaanbaatar, September 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Bank of Mongolia purchased 690.1 kilograms of precious metals in August 2025, bringing the total volume acquired since the beginning of the year to 7.7 tonnes.
This shows a 24.1 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Since January, the Bank of Mongolia’s branch in Darkhan-Uul aimag purchased 494 kg, while the branch in Bayankhongor aimag acquired 1,138.7 kg of precious metals. The Bank of Mongolia sets its purchase prices based on global market rates.
In August 2025, the average purchase price of gold was MNT 387,000 per gram.
