Women’s Economic Empowerment Project team works in Uvurkhangai

Uvurkhangai /MONTSAME/ On November 5, Acting Governor of Uvurkhangai aimag O.Batjargal met with a working group led by Tricia Turbold, Director of Economic Empowerment Programs for The Asia Foundation Mongolia


The Asia Foundation recently launched a four-year Women’s Economic Empowerment Project in Mongolia funded by Global Affairs Canada. Acting Governor O.Batjargal expressed gratitude to the project team for working in Uvurkhangai at the aimag authorities’ request to implement the project in the aimag.


“As our aimag has a large population, there is a necessity to increase employment and jobs. The aimag governor’s action plan will be developed soon. We will incorporate goals to encourage women’s employment and economic empowerment in the action plan and cooperate with you,” he said.


The project team will have meetings with the local labor and social protection department and Uvurkhangai office of Mongolian Women’s Federation and assess the situation of women entrepreneurs.
