Satellite cities to be developed
Today, the Cabinet discussed and made a decision regarding development of a satellite city in connection with decentralizing population of the capital city, reducing air pollution, developing tourism and the commissioning of New Ulaanbaatar International Airport.
Construction of theatre with 850 seats to start this year
The construction work for the theatre with 850 seats will start this year in the new settlement region of Dalanzadgad soum of Umnugobi aimag.
Parents who care children under five to be given paid-leave
During its regular meeting on January 16, the Cabinet obliged employers to give a paid leave to parents who are caring their children under five at homes for 3-5 days.
Salary of public servants to be raised by eight percent

Invitation for Nobel Prize nomination received
Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAC) has recently received an invitation from the Nobel Committee of the Swedish Academy. The Nobel Committee invited to nominate a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature for 2019.
Retirement pension to be raised by 7.6 percent from next month
During its regular meeting on January 16, the Cabinet made a decision to raise retirement pension and pension for those, who had worked in military service, from February 1.
Low cost electric home heating devices introduced

Ambulances with distance diagnosis and treatment delivered to five aimags
On January 14, ambulances equipped with distance diagnosis and treatment system were delivered to five aimags: Bulgan, Khuvsgul, Sukhbaatar, Uvs and Uvurkhangai, within the project on establishing national diagnosis and treatment center(MOH-8) being implemented under the soft loan agreement between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea.
Mongolia receives more than 598 thousand tourists in 2018
In 2018, 6.1 million passengers (double counting) have crossed the border of Mongolia, increased by 153.7 thousand or 2.6percent compared to the previous year. Of inbound passengers, 39.5percent were crossed through Zamiin-Uud, 17.8percent were crossed through Buyant-Ukhaa, 11.8percent were crossed through Gashuunsukhait, 11.3percent were crossed through Altanbulag, 6.1percent were crossed through Shiveekhuren, 13.4percent were crossed through other border points.
Registered unemployed decreases by 1.9 percent in 2018
At the end of December 2018, the Labor and Social Welfare Services Agencies have registered 36.2 thousand job seekers, of which 25.0 thousand or 69.0 percent were unemployed and remaining 11.2 thousand or 31.0 percent were employed but looking for a new job.
Population growth of 61.6 thousand observed in 2018
According to the preliminary result, the population of the Mongolia reached 3.2 million persons at the end of 2018 and growth of 61.6 thousand persons (1.9 percent) observed from the previous year.

About 1460 babies born abroad
The number of birth reached 79.0 thousand in 2018, of which 1465 (1.9 percent) were born abroad. In Mongolia during of 2018, 77.1 thousand mothers delivered 77.5 thousand babies (live births), increased by 3174 mothers (4.3 percent) and 3200 live births (4.3 percent) compared to the previous year.

According to the report of General Authority for Health Insurance and General Authority for Social Insurance, social insurance fund revenue at the end of 2018 reached MNT 2.4 trillion, increased by MNT 284.1 billion (13.4 percent) compared to the previous year.
